At its July 1 reorganization meeting, the NDWC board elected Mark Birdsall, Berthold, as Chairman and Aaron Kjelland, Park River, as Vice Chairman. Birdsall serves in the Commissioner at Large representative to the board, and is serving his second term on the board after being first appointed in 2019. Kjelland was elected by producers as the District 6 representative to the board in 2018 and is also serving his second term on the Commission. This was the first official meeting for Nate Brandt, Stanley, as he was elected as the District 2 representative to the board in March.

The board also assigned portfolio assignments to board members for representation on affiliated boards and committees. Mark Birdsall and Aaron Kjelland will fill two spots for the NDWC on the U.S. Wheat Associates (USW) board of directors, along with Jim Pellman who is the current Chairman of USW. On the domestic policy front, Glendon Slaubaugh will be the representative to the U.S. Durum Growers Association and Don Hardy will be the representative to the ND Grain Growers. Scott Huso will represent North Dakota growers on the Northern Crops Council and the Wheat Marketing Center, serving as Vice Chairman of both. Huso was also recently elected to the State Board of Agricultural Research and Education (SBARE). Aaron Kjelland will continue as the producer representative to the Wheat Foods Council.
