Hard Red Spring (HRS) Quality Data and Regional Report

Our regional quality report summarizes the Hard Red Spring wheat harvest across seven key states (ND, MT, MN, SD, ID, OR, and WA). Samples are analyzed by NDSU experts to provide data on:

  • Quality Factors:  Grading, kernel traits, and dough properties.

  • Performance:  Comprehensive flour and baking quality analysis.

  • Availability:  New reports are released every October.

This report provides a technical deep-dive into the quality of the Northern durum harvest from North Dakota and Montana. Evaluated by the NDSU Durum Wheat Quality and Pasta Processing Laboratory, the data covers:

  • Processing Metrics:  Grading, kernel quality, and semolina traits.

  • End-Use Performance:  Detailed analysis of pasta processing and color properties.

  • Availability:  Final reports are published annually in late October.
