Research in each category focuses on hard red spring wheat, durum and hard red winter wheat classes. In addition to basic and applied research, the Commission has invested in capital improvement projects that provide infrastructure and lab facilities that facilitate cutting edge research.

Improving yield and Quality for HRS, Durum, and HRW

End-use Quality

End-use analysis to meet global customer demands

Pest management (Sawfly/Midge) and Disease (FHB/Scab) mitigation

Submission Deadline: February 11, 2026

Submission Format: All applications must be submitted using the official NDWC New Research Proposal Form

Core Requirements: Proposals must be for projects that do not currently receive NDWC funding

Report Limit: Length must not exceed two pages, excluding the budget

Layman's Terms: A non-technical summary is required for the producer-led board
