The North Dakota Wheat Commission (NDWC) announces upcoming elections for county representatives in South Central (District 3) and Northeast (District 6) regions. These elections offer local producers a direct voice in how wheat checkoff funds are invested to benefit local producers.
Where the Elections Are Taking Place
District 3 (South Central): Burleigh, Eddy, Emmons, Foster, Kidder, Logan, Mcintosh, McLean, Sheridan, Stutsman, and Wells County

District 6 (Northeast): Cavalier, Grand Forks, Nelson, Pembina, and Walsh counties.

Why Your Involvement Matters
The NDWC is a producer-led board. The path to leadership begins at the local level:
County Level: Producers elect the representative to speak for their county.
District Level: These county representatives then meet to elect one member to the seven-person NDWC Board of Commissioners.
County representatives serve a vital four-year term, acting as the boots on the ground to ensure local issues are brought to statewide discussions. This grassroots involvement ensures that checkoff programs - ranging from research to market development - align with the actual needs of North Dakota wheat producers.
Eligibility and Terms
Who can vote/run: All active wheat producers who reside in the county and have NOT requested a checkoff refund in the past 12 months.
County Terms: Four-year terms with no term limits. Representatives typically meet once a year at an annual meeting.
Board Terms: Producers elected to the state Commission Board are limited to three four-year terms.
