2025 Annual County Representative meeting
2025 NDWC Annual County Representative Meeting

This past December, the North Dakota Wheat Commission hosted our Annual Meeting of County Representatives. This event is dedicated to the progress of our state’s wheat industry, providing a deep dive into the immediate issues impacting local producers through updates on critical infrastructure and global relationship building.

The meeting covered a wide range of topics, including an operational report from BNSF Railway on rail performance, and Brian Liedl, VP of Overseas Operations for USW provided a world wheat market outlook and discussed potential growth in HRS demand.

Additionally, board members and staff shared firsthand insights from recent crop quality travel to Asian and European markets. These international seminars are vital for maintaining our competitive edge in regions where North Dakota’s high-quality spring wheat and durum remain preferred staples for millers, bakers, and pasta manufacturers.

Ultimately, the annual meeting allows us to educate our representatives and keep producer-driven issues at the forefront of the Commission’s work. The board and staff appreciate their commitment of time and guidance on issues. Their "boots-on-the-ground" perspective allows the Commission to invest check-off funds strategically. By bringing local priorities to the table it ensures North Dakota remains the gold standard in the global wheat market.
