A representative for the Member At-Large Position on the Board of the North Dakota Wheat Commission will be selected prior to June 30, 2019. Bruce Freitag of Scranton will have served his maximum of three, four-year terms. There are seven board members on the Commission, six of which are elected through county and district elections. The At-Large selection process is chaired by the Agriculture Commissioner who will convene a meeting of the nominating committee consisting of the ND Crop Improvement Association, NDSU Experiment Station, NDSU Extension, ND Farm Bureau, ND Farmers Union, ND Grain Dealers Association, ND Grain Growers Association and the U.S. Durum Growers Association. The nominating committee will select three eligible wheat producers to submit to the Governor. The Governor will select one of the three to serve on the Board. According to the ND Century Code, the Agriculture Commissioner shall convene the meeting of the nominating committee, no more than 60 days prior to June 30th, but the Governor must make his appointment by June 30th. Interested producers are encouraged to contact any of the organizations or entities which are part of the nominating committee.
