Philip Volk is serving his first four-year term on the North Dakota Wheat Commission, representing wheat growers in the north central district of the state. He was elected Benson County representative in 2000. He is serving his first year as vice-chairman.
Volk represents the Commission at U.S. Wheat Associates and serves on the budget committee. He is the Commission's liaison to the Wheat Marketing Center and also serves as the chairman of the SBARE Wheat Granting Committee.
Volk is a graduate of Rugby High School and Bismarck State College with a Farm & Ranch Management degree.
Volk serves as a township officer and St. Mary's Lector and is a former director of Envision Cooperative and a Rugby FFA alumni.
Volk and his wife Lisa produce wheat, soybeans, dry beans and corn on their farm near York. They have five children.
