Super-Simple Lasagna

3/4 lb. fresh sweet Italian sausage, bulk
3/4 lb. ground turkey
1 jar (32 oz.) prepared meatless spaghetti sauce (commercial or home-canned)
1/4 cup water
15 oz. low-fat ricotta cheese
1 lb. part skim mozzarella cheese, shredded (4 cups)
9 - 12 uncooked lasagna noodles

Brown sausage and turkey together, breaking into very small chunks. Drain and rinse in colander to remove excess fat.

Coat an 8 1/2 x 14-inch baking dish, that is at least 2 inches deep, with non-stick cooking spray. Spread 1/4 cup spaghetti sauce evenly over bottom of pan. Add 1/4 cup water to jar of sauce and stir to combine.

Cover bottom of pan with uncooked lasagna noodles in a single layer, sides touching or overlapping slightly. Break noodles as needed to cover entire pan. Spread the ricotta cheese evenly over the noodles.

Top the ricotta with half the spaghetti sauce, then sprinkle with half the meat, then 2 cups mozzarella. Add another layer of uncooked noodles, then the remainder of sauce and meat; top with 2 cups mozzarella.

Cover with foil* and bake at 325 degrees F. for 45 minutes; uncover and bake 15 more minutes. Serves 8-10.

*Lasagna may be refrigerated for up to 2 days before baking.
