Overnight Coffee Cake

Ingredients
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup margarine
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup buttermilk


Instructions
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch baking pan.

Topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 cup chopped dates

Mix; sprinkle on top of batter. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
