Fried Noodle & Ground Beef Casserole

1/4 cup butter
8 ounces uncooked fine egg noodles
1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup water
10 1/2-ounce can low sodium French onion soup
1 1/2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
8-ounce can sliced water chestnuts, drained

In large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add uncooked noodles;

stirring constantly until golden brown. Remove to large bowl.

In same skillet,
cook ground beef until no longer pink; drain thoroughly. Add to
noodles. Add pepper, beef broth, water, onion soup, soy sauce, bell
pepper and water chestnuts. Mix thoroughly. Pour into 2-quart casserole coated
with non-stick spray. Cover and bake in preheated 350-degree oven about
45 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
