Ingredients
1 loaf frozen white (or sweet) bread dough, thawed
1 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup nuts, optional

Frosting:
1 cup powdered sugar
4 to 5 teaspoons milk
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon almond extract or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions
Thaw bread according to package directions letting dough rise until almost
 

 
doubled. Roll out on lightly floured surface to a 12x18-inch rectangle.
Spread with butter; sprinkle on cinnamon and sugar. Make tree
as follows:

1. Fold dough into triangle, overlapping edges. Leave
one inch uncovered along bottom.
2. Cut off bottom inch of dough
to use for tree trunk. Place on greased cooked sheet. Cut
strip in half so it measures 6" x 1"; roll piece
and tuck under bottom of tree as trunk.
3. With
a ruler, mark branches every 3/4" and cut with scissors.
Twist each branch several times and curve upward.

Cover with plastic wrap
and let rise for 40 minutes or until doubled. Bake at
350 degrees F 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Mix
 

 
powdered sugar, milk, butter and extract. Thin to drizzling consistency
with additional milk.

For a festive touch, add green food coloring
to frosting and decorate with cherries.
